Staff Engineer II - Business Intelligence (Microsoft Fabric)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and related cloud technologies.
• Design and develop Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Factory, Spark, SQL, semantic model, and reporting solutions.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and analytics frameworks for critical business functions.
• Collaborate with business, IT, and vendor stakeholders to define business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Support change management, SDLC, documentation, audits, compliance requests, and peer enablement.
• Contribute to AI, Copilot, advanced analytics, and cloud-native data initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar field.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Factory, Spark, semantic models, and Fabric administration.
• Strong Azure cloud data engineering experience and modern data architecture knowledge.
• Expert proficiency in SQL, data modeling, database design, and performance optimization.
• Core to intermediate proficiency in C#/.NET, object-oriented programming, Git, CI/CD, DevOps, and change management practices.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent certifications and professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in mortgage, banking, and financial services.
• Experience or interest in AI tools such as Copilot.
• VBA and PowerShell or command-line interface proficiency.
• Microsoft certifications in Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, Azure Solutions Architecture, or related technologies.
