Junior AI Data Engineer (Machine Learning & Data Processing)

Location: Lisbon, hybrid, with up to 3 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Support AI/ML model training, evaluation, and simple deployment using Python and related tools.
• Develop and maintain data processing, ingestion, and API-based pipelines with SQL/NoSQL, vector, and graph databases.
• Contribute to AI solutions using TensorFlow, PyTorch, Transformers, Generative AI, RAG, and reasoning patterns.
• Set up and manage AWS services including S3, SageMaker, and Bedrock.
• Use GitLab, Docker, and Airflow to streamline DevOps/MLOps workflows.
• Work according to Agile methodologies and support iterative delivery.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience or hands-on projects in AI/ML, data processing, or software development.
• Basic Python programming skills, familiarity with SQL, and experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Introductory knowledge of AWS services such as S3, SageMaker, or Bedrock.
• Awareness of Generative AI concepts and initial exposure to vector or graph databases.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Fluent English and French; existing legal right to work in Europe required.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks.
• Knowledge of APIs, Kubernetes, Artifactory, Guards, or A2A.
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop approaches or multi-agent systems.
• Understanding of Docker, GitLab, or Airflow.
