Senior AI/Data Engineer

Location: Bulgaria, Poland, or Romania. Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

What you will do

• Design and develop an in-house AI-powered Analytics Agent running in Devin.
• Implement agent capabilities for modifying data marts, ingesting data sources, and running dbt workflows.
• Integrate the agent with GitHub and adapt an existing dbt project to run reliably in Databricks.
• Analyze and resolve compatibility differences between Snowflake and Databricks analytics workloads.
• Define safe workflows, validation mechanisms, and guardrails for AI-assisted changes to data models, ingestion pipelines, and analytics code.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, document the solution, and prepare knowledge-transfer materials for future support.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt, data modeling, testing, documentation, dependency management, and troubleshooting.
• Commercial experience with Databricks, good knowledge of Snowflake, and experience migrating analytics workloads between data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills, experience with data marts, analytical data models, ingestion pipelines, and relational sources such as MySQL.
• Experience with GitHub workflows, APIs or command-line integrations, AI-powered engineering tools, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and error handling.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, EU work location, and a valid work permit are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Devin or other autonomous AI software engineering platforms.
• Knowledge of agentic workflows, tool calling, prompt design, context management, and AI-agent evaluation.
• Experience with human-in-the-loop approvals, data contracts, lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Knowledge of Databricks Asset Bundles, Databricks Workflows, Unity Catalog, or CI/CD for dbt and Databricks.
• Experience mentoring engineers or transferring ownership of internally developed engineering tools.
