Software Engineer - Cloud Compute Platform (Go/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote, United Kingdom; some travel may be required based on business demand.

What you will do

• Design and implement Go services, APIs, and Kubernetes controllers.
• Build systems for workload placement, lifecycle management, and state coordination across Kubernetes clusters.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of cloud compute platform components.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and partner teams to deliver end-to-end platform functionality.
• Write automated tests, documentation, and operational runbooks, and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve production issues as part of operational responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; a master's degree is preferred.
• A few years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar programming language and familiarity with Kubernetes concepts such as deployments, services, controllers, or operators.
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, networking, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with testing, debugging, monitoring, incident resolution, and collaborative engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators.
• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, API design, or cloud-provider integrations such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant systems, workload isolation, observability tools, containerized applications, scheduling, or infrastructure automation.
