EHS Compliance Engineer (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Oss, Netherlands; full-time, on-site role. No relocation is provided.

What you will do

• Develop and implement the annual Safety, Health & Environment plan with department leaders, SHE specialists, and other stakeholders.
• Advise the Quality Control department on machine safety, industrial hygiene, work permits, hazardous substances, ergonomics, PPE, and related safety topics.
• Conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support investment and improvement projects as a SHE subject matter expert, ensuring regulatory compliance and anticipating legislative changes.
• Monitor SHE performance through reporting and KPIs, drive Lean-based process improvements, and represent the department during audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
• Train and coach employees and participate in the SHE on-call roster approximately one week every two months.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, biopharmaceutical, or safety-related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a Safety, Health & Environment role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Advanced Safety Engineering qualification (HVK) is preferred; completing it may be part of the role if not already obtained.
• Experience in operational environments and strong knowledge of safety, GMP, and Lean principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
