Senior Engineer, Equipment Engineering (Sputter Media)

What you will do

• Oversee the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of sputtering equipment used to produce hard disk media.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and monitor equipment performance to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize cycle time.
• Analyze equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process engineers to develop and optimize sputtering processes and new technologies.
• Plan and manage equipment upgrade projects, including timelines, budgets, and cross-functional execution.
• Prepare equipment reports and SOPs, ensure compliance with safety standards, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, materials engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in equipment engineering, preferably in sputter media or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of vacuum systems, thin-film deposition techniques, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with diagnostic tools, PLC programming, automation, statistical process control, or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience in sputter media or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Knowledge of high-vacuum technology and plasma physics.
