Cloud Backend & Edge DevOps Engineer (IoT)

Location: Remote from Hungary; position associated with Budapest

What you will do

• Integrate Mender Enterprise SaaS into the e.IoT platform for secure, fleet-wide over-the-air software updates.
• Design and implement backend API integrations with Mender Enterprise.
• Develop progressive rollout strategies and fail-safe automatic rollback mechanisms for edge-device updates.
• Set up software and package signing pipelines and integrate secure secrets management into deployment processes.
• Automate and operationalise the Mender-based OTA solution.
• Collaborate with backend, cloud, DevOps, and edge engineering teams.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Cloud, Backend, DevOps, or DevSecOps Engineer.
• Strong experience with API integration and backend services.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with software supply-chain security, code or package signing, secrets management, and secure deployment practices.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, automated deployment, cloud platforms, and distributed or edge environments.
• Strong problem-solving and automation mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mender Enterprise or other OTA and device-management platforms.
• Experience with IoT or edge-computing environments.
• Experience with Azure and Azure IoT services.
• Knowledge of progressive deployment strategies, fleet management, containerisation, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps tools.
