QA Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Metro Manila, Philippines, with UTC+8 core collaboration hours from 12:00–6:00 PM Manila time

What you will do

• Test backend services, APIs, microservices, payment flows, and system integrations.
• Design and execute manual and automated tests for new functionality, regression scenarios, and production releases.
• Build and maintain automated test suites where automation provides practical value.
• Validate business rules, transaction flows, data consistency, and service-to-service communication.
• Analyze defects and production incidents, identify root-cause patterns, and verify fixes.
• Own release testing through final quality sign-off and monitor product behavior after release.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or Software Developer, preferably in fintech or banking.
• Hands-on experience with automated test suites, API testing, backend validation, and system integrations.
• Understanding of microservice architecture, integration patterns, regression testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and release testing.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation, plus experience investigating production incidents.
• Familiarity with GitLab, GitOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher and availability for UTC+8 core collaboration hours.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of acquirers, issuers, payment systems, anti-money laundering processes, and regulatory principles.
• Experience testing antifraud systems, rule engines, scoring models, or transaction-risk signals.
• Knowledge of core banking systems and experience with performance or load-testing tools.
• Previous experience testing applications at a financial institution.
