Senior QA Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Athens, Attica, Greece; Workplace: Hybrid

What you will do

• Own release quality across frequent deployments through regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and technical analysis activities.
• Define end-to-end testing strategies for frontend, backend, APIs, and cross-service integrations covering onboarding, lending, payments, and reconciliation.
• Build and maintain Cypress-based or equivalent UI and API automation frameworks to expand coverage and reduce manual regression.
• Design performance and load testing with K6 or equivalent tools to validate scalability and stability under production-level traffic.
• Validate distributed workflows, including failure scenarios, retries, idempotency, and cross-system data consistency.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and compliance teams, mentor QA engineers, and drive quality practices across the team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional QA experience, ideally on large-scale, high-traffic platforms.
• Experience defining testing strategies for distributed microservices architectures.
• Strong hands-on experience with UI and API automation frameworks such as Cypress, plus performance and load testing with K6 or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, API validation, contract testing, and SQL-based data validation.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and Xray, with a risk-based testing mindset.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and ownership skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or other regulated environments.
• Experience testing payments, billing, order management, or other business-critical domains.
• Familiarity with message-based or event-driven systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Python scripting, QA mentoring, quality initiative leadership, or observability experience.
