Research Accountant

Location: hirify.global Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia; hybrid options with work from home available. Work across other university locations may be required.

Salary: AUD 94,966.18 per year plus 17% superannuation; full package AUD 111,110.42.

What you will do

• Prepare and sign off on financial statements for research projects.
• Manage journal preparation, project budgets, financial data, and project closures.
• Oversee reporting and compliance across a portfolio of research projects.
• Liaise with Chief Investigators and external funding bodies on financial reporting requests.
• Prioritise work, meet deadlines, resolve reporting issues, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification and relevant work experience.
• Membership of a professionally accredited accounting organisation.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements under pressure and within deadlines.
• Strong communication, prioritisation, multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
