Payroll Implementation Specialist (Payroll)

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with the option to work from home 2 days per week, subject to business needs

Contract role ending December 31, 2027.

What you will do

• Lead the remaining phases of the payroll and award interpretation systems implementation, including objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate delivery with internal, external, retail, and global stakeholders.
• Oversee data cleansing, migration, validation, solution configuration, and testing.
• Manage change, communication, training, adoption, and post-go-live support.
• Ensure payroll interpretation and processing reflect enterprise and collective agreements, awards, clauses, legislation, and compliance requirements.
• Identify implementation risks, drive corrective actions, and maintain procedural, security, and legal compliance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in payroll, payroll management, or HR solutions.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes across Australian and New Zealand legislation.
• Experience with enterprise and collective agreements, award interpretation, and translating requirements into payroll compliance.
• Strong payroll accuracy, compliance, tax, wage regulation, and labour policy knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Experience with software implementation is highly regarded.
