Software Engineer II, Streaming Foundations

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 110,000–151,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Contribute to the technical direction and roadmap for streaming platform capabilities.
• Design and implement foundational systems, owning features from design through delivery.
• Participate in architectural discussions focused on platform scalability and technical challenges.
• Collaborate across engineering teams on cross-functional infrastructure projects.
• Improve observability, reliability, scalability, and operational practices across streaming systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-time software development experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Hands-on experience developing and tuning highly scalable, event-driven systems.
• Solid database fundamentals and experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Strong interest in building reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure systems.
• Experience with Golang or Java is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Familiarity with or interest in identity and access management.
