Salary: $94,345.12–$129,724.54 per year

What you will do

  • Design and evaluate complex metallic and composite aerospace and defense structures.
  • Perform advanced structural analysis, validation, and static or dynamic analyses.
  • Develop and execute test plans for structural components.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, substantiation reports, and engineering reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize designs.
  • Ensure structural designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
  • Understanding of structural analysis, design principles, engineering practices, and computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because employment requires an active U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, ANSYS, NASGRO, or AFGROW.
  • Experience with finite element, fatigue, damage tolerance, or classical hand-calculation analysis.
  • Experience authoring substantiation reports.
  • Aerospace and defense industry experience, including missile system development programs.
