Civil Surveyor — Mining

Location: Macraes, Otago, New Zealand; residential role with drive-in, drive-out access from nearby Dunedin or Oamaru

What you will do

• Deliver accurate survey support for mine civil engineering projects, including embankment construction and road realignments.
• Perform design set-out and as-built surveys to verify construction compliance and monitor performance.
• Conduct UAV and bathymetric surveys of tailings storage facilities.
• Complete deformation monitoring surveys in line with compliance and geotechnical schedules.
• Maintain survey datasets, monitoring databases, and internal and external reporting data.
• Process and distribute survey data using survey and 3D modelling software while supporting the wider open pit survey team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in surveying preferred.
• Three or more years of surveying experience preferred, including open pit mining or large-scale civil engineering projects.
• Full, clean, current Class 1 driver’s licence and ability to drive manual vehicles.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand and an unrestricted New Zealand work visa are preferred.
• Understanding of civil construction methods and ability to work safely in a hazardous environment.
