TL;DR
Sr. Analyst, AML Triage (10 Months Fixed Term) (AML/Financial Intelligence): Reviewing manual and automated alerts to identify money laundering, terrorist financing, high-risk client, and suspicious transaction concerns with an accent on client risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex investigations. Focus on analyzing client relationships, monitoring regulatory risks, drafting remediation plans, and sharing investigative best practices with junior investigators.

Location: Toronto, ON; legally eligible to work at the specified location, with a valid work or study permit where applicable

What you will do

  • Review alerts across manual and automated Financial Intelligence Unit triage workstreams.
  • Identify high-risk clients, suspicious and unusual transaction patterns, and money laundering or terrorist financing concerns.
  • Analyze client relationships under the hirify.global Client Risk Assessment Standard and address risks in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Research changing laws, regulations, and industry commitments and communicate relevant risks.
  • Monitor complex regulatory compliance issues, draft action plans, and recommend solutions for non-compliance.
  • Share investigative knowledge and best practices with junior investigators.

Requirements

  • Experience with consumer regulatory and compliance requirements, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing frameworks.
  • Experience with multiple payment and transaction types and with assessing regulatory compliance risks.
  • Strong critical thinking, investigation, communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Toronto and a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of COINS, ECIF, SWIFT, PRM, PostEdge, Worldcheck, or similar systems.
