Field Applications Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States. The role includes field work supporting military operations, 24x7 shift coverage, and travel up to 30% CONUS and OCONUS. Training at the Carlsbad facility may last up to three months before deployment.

Salary: $80,000–$126,500 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $99,500–$149,500 annually.

What you will do

• Install, test, operate, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and administer SATCOM hubs and associated remote terminals, including airborne mobile COTM platforms.
• Support RF, IP networking, servers, virtualization, Windows, Linux, and proprietary SATCOM software systems.
• Provide local and remote technical support to terminal users during live operations.
• Brief technical and non-technical stakeholders and serve as the primary customer interface.
• Manage ticketing, technical documentation, maintenance planning, and process improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with IP-based military SATCOM systems.
• Working knowledge of Ku/Ka-band RF equipment, ACUs, HPAs, UPC, tracking antennas, test equipment, and communications theory.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, server virtualization, IP networking, routers, switches, security appliances, and traffic shapers.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, or SSCP, or ability to obtain it within six months.
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and US citizenship required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24x7 environment and travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in telecommunications or a related discipline.
• CCNA certification.
