Board Repair Technician III (PCB Electronics)

What you will do

• Test, troubleshoot, and repair analog and digital circuits to the component level.
• Repair a broad range of industrial control circuit boards using through-hole and surface-mount soldering and de-soldering.
• Work with the VVVF drive team, including three-phase system testing at voltages up to 675VAC.
• Read board- and system-level schematics, interpret datasheets, and document signal readings and test results.
• Create test strategies for undocumented PCB assemblies and perform basic repairs to test fixtures and simulators.
• Maintain ESD, PPE, safety, quality, productivity, and warranty requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of primary experience troubleshooting analog and digital circuit boards to the component level.
• Experience with logic and microprocessor circuits, troubleshooting without schematics, and established test procedures.
• Competence with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, interpret component specifications, and perform quality soldering and de-soldering on multilayer boards.
• Understanding of three-phase power systems and high-current components.
• Preferred: completion of a two-year college, trade school, or military electronics repair program.
