Associate Staff Engineer - Data Engineer (dbt)

What you will do

• Develop complex data transformations and analytics engineering solutions using SQL and dbt.
• Build and maintain dbt models, materializations, incremental models, macros, and Jinja workflows.
• Implement dbt testing, data quality controls, snapshots, seeds, and sources.
• Create documentation and maintain data lineage across production data workflows.
• Integrate AI tools into development workflows, including implementation, refactoring, test generation, code review, and automation.
• Establish standards for prompting, verification, security, intellectual property protection, and review of AI-generated code.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with dbt.
• Strong SQL skills and experience developing complex data transformations.
• Strong understanding of dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud, including packages, testing, documentation, and lineage.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Daily fluent use of Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot, plus working knowledge of LLM fundamentals, AI-assisted development, and agentic tooling.
