What you will do
- Develop and implement the project HSE execution strategy, assurance program, goals, KPIs, and leading indicators.
- Act as the owner's senior HSE representative and oversee EPC, EPCM, construction contractor, subcontractor, and service-provider performance.
- Review HSE plans, procedures, risk assessments, audits, field assessments, corrective actions, and contractor recovery plans.
- Lead hazard identification, critical-risk controls, incident investigations, root-cause analyses, emergency preparedness, and safety leadership initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental permits, local requirements, corporate standards, and sustainability expectations.
- Support construction completion, commissioning, startup, pre-startup safety reviews, operational readiness, reporting, and executive HSE dashboards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HSE experience, including at least 10 years supporting large industrial capital projects.
- Experience with projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost and with EPC, EPCM, and construction management delivery models.
- Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities.
- Strong capabilities in safety leadership, risk management, contractor management, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, communication, and coaching.
- Preferred certifications include CSP, CHST, CIH, NEBOSH Diploma, OSHA 30/500, and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
