IT Manager – Transmission Engineering Technology

What you will do

• Develop and execute the technology strategy and multi-year roadmaps for Transmission Engineering.
• Act as the primary IT relationship manager for Transmission Planning, Protection & Control, Substation Engineering, Line Engineering, and Telecommunications organizations.
• Lead delivery and support for engineering design and modeling systems, PLS-CADD, document and drawing management, analytics platforms, integrations, and APIs.
• Manage the application portfolio, prioritize initiatives, oversee project execution, and support adoption and organizational change.
• Improve system availability, performance, automation, service-level objectives, incident management, and lifecycle management.
• Lead and develop IT staff, manage vendors and delivery partners, and build team capabilities and succession plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, information systems, or a related technical field.
• 8 or more years of technology experience, including progressive IT leadership experience; 4–6 years of direct supervision experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting electric utility Transmission Engineering organizations and knowledge of transmission planning, engineering, design, and asset management processes.
• Experience managing enterprise application portfolios and leading cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, system integration, and cybersecurity.
• Ability to work at the Gahanna, Ohio location.

Nice to have

• Experience with Maximo, PLS-CADD, engineering analysis platforms, AWS, Snowflake, or enterprise integration platforms.
• Knowledge of NERC CIP, FERC, and utility regulatory requirements.
• PMP, ITIL, SAFe, or Agile certification.
