Security Operations Center Cyber Analyst

Location: Newport, Rhode Island, United States; onsite only with no remote or telework

Salary: $64,252.03–$111,721.81 annually

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze security events in Splunk and Airlock Digital.
• Investigate alerts to distinguish malicious activity from approved or normal activity.
• Provide threat detection and incident response to mitigate network risks.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and improve security detection analytics.
• Analyze Windows, Linux, network, endpoint, wireless intrusion detection, and application logs.
• Collaborate with ISSOs and technical teams to resolve security incidents.

Requirements

• Active Secret DoD security clearance required.
• At least 6 years of experience with Security Operations Center processes, SIEM, and XDR tools.
• Experience with incident response, event correlation, incident timelines, root-cause analysis, and security detection engineering.
• Strong knowledge of security compliance, vulnerability management, cybersecurity SOPs, and enterprise endpoint tools.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash, plus Active Directory, domain controller, and Windows Server administration.
• Knowledge of Windows security baselines, including CIS and DISA STIG.

Nice to have

• BS degree with 2–4 years of experience or MS degree with 0–2 years of experience.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
