TL;DR
Senior Security Operations Engineer (FedRAMP): Managing and automating enterprise security tools, incident response, threat hunting, and FedRAMP compliance solutions with an accent on GRC engineering, security automation, and regulatory controls. Focus on building Python security utilities, integrating SIEM and vulnerability management platforms, and supporting FedRAMP audits and continuous monitoring.

Location: Hybrid near McLean, Virginia, with 3 days per week onsite. Must reside in the United States and hold U.S. citizenship or a Green Card.

Salary: $128,500–$188,000 annual base salary.

What you will do

  • Manage the full lifecycle of enterprise security tools, including selection, deployment, integration, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Handle security alerts and incidents with an emphasis on automation and threat hunting.
  • Support compliance and security audits as a FedRAMP security controls subject matter expert.
  • Build GRC engineering and compliance automation solutions.
  • Write code and scripts to develop security utilities, integrate APIs, and automate security operations.

Requirements

  • Must reside in the U.S. and hold U.S. citizenship or a Green Card to meet FedRAMP compliance requirements.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in security operations, cloud security, or security systems engineering.
  • Experience managing servers, databases, AWS cloud infrastructure, and enterprise security tools.
  • Demonstrated Python development experience for security utilities, API integrations, and automation.
  • Proven experience administering, configuring, and managing enterprise security toolsets throughout their lifecycle.

Nice to have

  • Practical knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, threat models, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP Moderate/High standards.
  • Experience building and maintaining custom Splunk applications.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong independent problem-solving and cross-team communication skills.
