Full Stack Engineer (React/Node)

Location: Remote within the United States; on-site work is available at offices in Arlington, VA and Baltimore, MD. Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years and be able to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance.

What you will do

• Analyze complex business and engineering challenges and translate user needs into reliable end-to-end experiences.
• Design scalable web applications, microservices-based APIs, data stores, and connected system architectures.
• Build and deliver product features iteratively with multiple small agile teams.
• Develop prototypes and explore alternatives to validate ideas and refine concepts.
• Support test-driven development and automated testing practices.
• Explain complex solutions clearly and mentor team members in modern application development practices.

Requirements

• Must reside and work in the United States.
• Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years and be able to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent and at least 8 years of total experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with frontend technologies and React.
• At least 3 years of experience building scalable Node.js applications with frameworks such as Express or Nest.
• Experience with REST APIs, NoSQL databases, AWS, Docker, automated testing, Git, and agile development.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services including S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda, and Parameter Store.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Datadog.
• AWS certification and infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Ant.
• Experience with additional frontend frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and publicly shareable code or open-source contributions.
