Principal Platform Architect (SaaS)

What you will do

• Define and evolve the Tetra Platform architecture aligned with product and business strategy.
• Own enterprise platform components including IAM, SSO, and fine-grained RBAC/ABAC.
• Architect search infrastructure spanning keyword, semantic, and hybrid retrieval for scientific data.
• Design AI/ML Ops frameworks for model lifecycle, inference, and training at scale.
• Lead developer platform initiatives to improve throughput, toolchain ownership, and SDK adoption.
• Establish reference architectures for partner integrations and cloud infrastructure cost governance.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years at staff or principal level in SaaS or data infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in multi-tenant cloud architecture and data-intensive enterprise products.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Proven ability to write and defend architecture decisions (RFCs, ADRs).
• Must have US work authorization.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to drive alignment through documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries like biopharma, medtech, or financial services.
• Familiarity with scientific data platforms, ELN/LIMS systems, or laboratory informatics.
• Background in building internal developer platforms or partner integration programs.
• Experience as a founding or early platform architect at a scaling Series B–D SaaS company.
