Software Engineer - Robot Software Infrastructure (Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain the operating system platform powering vehicle devices and autonomy applications.
• Architect platform-level software and services for robust, scalable robotics infrastructure.
• Configure embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto and bootloader processes such as U-Boot.
• Develop and optimize device drivers and kernel-space components in C, C++, or Rust.
• Collaborate with application engineering, release management, hardware engineering, manufacturing, and operations on integration, issue triage, hardware bring-up, and deployment.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience delivering production systems and software applications.
• Experience designing and deploying continuous integration and validation toolchains for Linux/OS images across different hardware platforms.
• Proficiency in Linux internals, including init systems, containerization, filesystems, kernel-space development, and device drivers.
• Systems programming experience with C/C++ and scripting with Python or Bash.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Embedded Linux experience in robotics applications.
• Knowledge of PKI, secure boot, OTA software updates, and hardware key storage.
• Familiarity with Nvidia GPUs, Nvidia Thor or Orin, CUDA, and TRT.
• Graduate degree focused on networking, operating systems, or firmware.
