Senior Research Analyst (Legal Research)

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 annually, varying by location and relevant experience.

What you will do

• Conduct proactive legal and business research for attorneys and administrative staff.
• Analyze and synthesize research findings to support effective decision-making.
• Advise on research strategies, resource selection, and efficient use of research applications.
• Develop curricula, deliver subject-area training, and conduct onboarding for legal and administrative staff.
• Create newsletters and alerts, maintain the Research Services intranet, and manage research projects through workflow software.
• Evaluate online research resources and recommend purchases or renewals while monitoring developments in legal and business GenAI tools.

Requirements

• Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school, or equivalent relevant professional research experience.
• 7+ years of research experience in a private law firm, academic law library, special library, or research center.
• Expert knowledge of information sources including Westlaw, Lexis, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, Intelligize, InfoNgen, Derwent Innovation, and Saegis.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, and their impact on research.
• Strong research interview, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively; proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
