TL;DR
Technical Manager (Manufacturing): Managing environmental and technical services in a lean manufacturing and distribution facility with an accent on capital projects, process improvement, production-line design, and regulatory compliance. Focus on developing site master plans, controlling capital budgets, improving plant safety and efficiency, and leading technical staff in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Harrisonville, Missouri, USA; onsite role. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility to cover early morning and night shifts as needed.

What you will do

  • Manage environmental and technical services for a lean manufacturing and distribution facility.
  • Lead plant maintenance programs, process improvements, product testing, process changes, and capital projects.
  • Develop and manage technical department and capital project budgets, forecasts, implementation plans, cost controls, and schedules.
  • Design production lines and engineering projects using design-for-manufacturability principles, and prepare project documents, bid packages, and deliverables.
  • Promote plant safety, environmental compliance, GMP practices, Responsible Care initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  • Select, train, mentor, and manage technical staff and contractors, including performance and employee relations responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of plant or process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, production operations, plant quality systems, project management, and audit functions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, GMP, ISO 9000, and CGMP requirements and practices.
  • Advanced computer skills and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt experience.
  • SAP PM experience.
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Systems and TPM Autonomous Maintenance.
