Test Automation Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests for hardware products, embedded software, and firmware.
• Build test strategies, specifications, test cases, acceptance criteria, test harnesses, fixtures, and Hardware-in-the-Loop infrastructure.
• Develop Python automation for device control, test execution, data collection, validation, and reporting.
• Run functional, integration, regression, performance, stress, endurance, and reliability tests on physical devices and software.
• Maintain regression suites and integrate hardware-based testing into CI/CD pipelines where appropriate.
• Investigate failures across software, firmware, and test environments, driving root-cause analysis and documenting defects.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience testing software, firmware, or embedded systems with physical devices.
• Experience developing automated tests in Python or another object-oriented language; pytest, Appium, or Behave experience is useful.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop or other hardware-based automated test environments.
• Experience with load, stress, performance, endurance, and reliability testing, plus familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical writing, and English communication skills; ISTQB Level 1 certification and willingness to pursue further certifications.

• Python automation for physical hardware and laboratory equipment.
• HIL, SIL, or system-level automated testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in agile software and hardware development environments.
