QA Lead

Location: Ghent, Belgium; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Own the QA function across three development teams and define organization-wide quality standards, processes, and tooling.
• Define and drive the QA strategy, embedding quality early through a shift-left approach.
• Lead the QA Tribe and align teams around the test pyramid, quality benchmarks, and shared QA practices.
• Decide on test frameworks, environments, and test-data infrastructure in collaboration with Architects.
• Design, build, maintain, and review automated test suites and their CI/CD integration.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and support the career development of QA and Automation Engineers while reporting quality KPIs and defect trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance across manual and automated testing.
• Experience with test strategy, the test pyramid, and establishing quality standards across multiple teams.
• Experience or strong affinity for leading, coaching, and hiring QA professionals.
• Familiarity with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, modern testing tooling, frameworks, and test environments.
• Fluent Dutch and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
