Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Germany; fully remote or hybrid, with the Berlin office available but not required

What you will do

• Own and improve CI/CD release processes across CircleCI and GitHub Actions, including queue-based releases, automated rollbacks, and DORA reporting.
• Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure with Terraform across a multi-account environment using AWS Control Tower, ECS, EKS, and Terraform Cloud.
• Improve observability, alerting, SLOs, production stability, and incident response, including participation in the on-call rotation.
• Lead platform requirements for C5 and PCI DSS compliance, automate CVE and dependency management, and provide per-team FinOps visibility.
• Build internal developer tooling, reproducible environments, and guardrails that enable product teams to run and own their services.
• Develop delivery pipelines for agentic engineering, shifting confidence from manual review gates toward automated verification.

Requirements

• Proven experience transforming release processes into fast, automated delivery pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and DORA metrics.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform at scale, including multi-account environments, monorepos, Terraform Cloud, ECS, and EKS.
• Production operations experience with observability, metrics, tracing, logs, SLOs, incident response, and on-call rotations.
• Ability to design solutions from ambiguous requirements, build custom tooling, and debug application code in at least one programming language.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across DevOps, QA, and product engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with trunk-based development, merge queues, Policy-as-Code, Terraform Sentinel, or Renovate.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, C5, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance frameworks.
• Exposure to FinOps, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, high-transaction SaaS, payments, or creator economy platforms.
• Experience integrating AI coding agents or LLM tooling into delivery pipelines.
• German language skills and experience enabling product teams to own services and on-call responsibilities.
