2026 Software Dev Engineer Intern - Spain

Location: Madrid, Spain; onsite Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week, typically between 8am and 5pm

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate innovative products and services with experienced cross-disciplinary engineers.
• Develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed computing.
• Build and maintain resilient, fault-tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective systems.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation.
• Use and contribute to GenAI and AI-powered tools that improve development productivity.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while maintaining operational excellence.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field at the time of application.
• Knowledge of C, C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
• Availability to work onsite in Madrid, Monday-Friday, during the hirify.global workday, without conflicts from classes or other employment.

Nice to have

• Previous technical internship experience.
• Experience with distributed and multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Experience with linear programming or nonlinear optimization.
• Ability to explain technical challenges and solutions clearly and handle ambiguous problems.
