High School Athletic Director

Location: Camden, New Jersey, USA

Compensation: $59,000–$80,000 per year; most qualified candidates receive $59,000–$63,000.

What you will do

• Manage and direct the high school athletic program.
• Coordinate athletic events and ensure compliance with school district, NJSIAA, league, and conference requirements.
• Prepare budgets, allocate spending, and support the development of new sports programs and facilities.
• Recruit staff, coordinate game and practice schedules, and evaluate coach performance.
• Participate in revenue development and fundraising.
• Build relationships with students and families while contributing to school-wide culture, mentorship, and student achievement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before starting employment.
• Expertise in athletic direction, high school education, physical education, sports science, and sports management.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Must meet New Jersey state certification eligibility requirements; instructional staff must become certified in New Jersey within a reasonable period after starting.
• Teacher certification is not required for consideration in New Jersey.

• 1–2 years of experience working with K–12 students in urban schools and communities.
