Principal Engineer - Full Stack Mobile and Backend

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working model. The role requires being based in Lisbon, with flexibility options to be discussed.

What you will do

• Build and maintain efficient mobile and backend solutions for the Travel Ready Native product.
• Contribute across requirements analysis, architecture, feasibility, planning, delivery, production support, and rollout.
• Design scalable architectures focused on performance, resilience, security, and user experience.
• Apply coding best practices through code reviews, testing, refactoring, and secure development.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and deployment readiness.
• Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and improve engineering practices and technical debt.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a senior software engineer or technical lead in complex environments.
• Professional experience across iOS, Android, and backend systems, including mobile lifecycle and SDK constraints.
• Knowledge of API-driven architectures, cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD automation; Microsoft Azure is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, autonomy, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Agile development practices and willingness to learn and apply AI-based development and automation tools.
• Based in Lisbon, Portugal, with flexibility options available for discussion.
