What you will do

• Plan, develop, and conduct world-leading research in nuclear science or engineering.
• Develop a coherent research programme and secure external research funding.
• Build and lead a research team, supervising postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.
• Engage with nuclear-sector stakeholders across academia, industry, and government policy.
• Contribute to the Dalton nuclear community through outreach, early-career development, networking, and policy activities.

Requirements

• A relevant PhD or equivalent qualification or experience before the appointment begins.
• Ability to develop a coherent, world-leading research programme.
• Ability to plan and build a team and deliver outstanding results.
• Understanding of research impact on the nuclear sector, including industrial or government stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
