Manager Software Engineering (Kubernetes/Azure)

What you will do

• Own central CI/CD pipelines, platform standards, release patterns, rollback strategies, and automated quality, security, and compliance gates.
• Design and build Kubernetes infrastructure on-premise and on Azure AKS, including containerisation of existing workloads.
• Develop automated scaling, observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and infrastructure-as-code capabilities.
• Validate platform changes through lab, proof-of-concept, limited production, and migration stages.
• Act as the technical authority for DevOps, align toolchains across teams, mentor engineers, and guide platform architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience designing and owning end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with blue-green and canary deployment strategies.
• Production experience building and operating Kubernetes on physical infrastructure and managed cloud services, ideally Azure AKS.
• Experience with Docker, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep, Azure, networking, identity, and cost-aware architecture.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server, relational databases, in-memory caches, event streaming, load balancing, TLS termination, firewalls, and network segmentation.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent monitoring, logging, and alerting stacks.
• Strong communication, organisation, collaboration, ownership, and ability to set standards and influence development teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in sports betting, online gaming, casino, regulated, high-availability, or high-throughput environments.
• Knowledge of gambling regulations, compliance, player behaviour, or customer retention strategies.
• CKA, CKAD, or equivalent Kubernetes certification.
• Experience with legacy workload containerisation, enterprise virtualisation, service mesh, GitOps, or policy-as-code.
