Director, AI Strategy

Compensation range: $210,000–$380,000 base salary

What you will do

• Design and implement enterprise AI governance policies, frameworks, controls, and guardrails.
• Align AI/ML engineering, legal, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders across the AI development lifecycle.
• Build AI risk assessment processes covering model validation, bias detection, and ongoing monitoring.
• Define governance standards, documentation requirements, and approval workflows for technical teams and executives.
• Partner with regulators, auditors, and industry consortia on emerging requirements and best practices.
• Drive adoption of governance tools across MLOps and data governance infrastructure, while leading responsible AI training and advising executives on regulatory risk.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in AI governance, risk management, compliance, or AI strategy.
• Experience building governance frameworks, policies, or control mechanisms in regulated industries or complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of machine learning workflows, including model development, data pipelines, deployment, and monitoring.
• Ability to influence engineering, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders without direct authority.
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act, SEC guidance, and industry frameworks, with the ability to translate regulations into operational practice.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical audiences and non-technical executives.
