Data Quality Analyst / Data Tester (Google BigQuery)

Location: Bulgaria or Romania; work from the European Union region and a work permit are required

What you will do

• Validate legacy and TMS-related data migrated into Google BigQuery.
• Design and execute data quality, reconciliation, and ETL/ELT validation checks.
• Analyze discrepancies between source and target datasets and identify root causes.
• Validate data models, schemas, relationships, dashboards, reports, KPIs, and analytical datasets.
• Document defects and collaborate with Data Engineers and business stakeholders to resolve data issues.
• Support production-grade datasets for analytical consumption within an Agile delivery workflow.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, window functions, and data comparisons.
• Hands-on experience with data migrations, data reconciliation, data quality testing, and ETL/ELT validation.
• Experience with Google BigQuery, structured and semi-structured data, data profiling, and anomaly detection.
• Basic Python skills for data analysis, comparison, or test automation.
• Understanding of data models, data lineage, cloud data architectures, data quality dimensions, APIs, and defect management.
• Work from the European Union region and a valid work permit are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Looker, Dataform, dbt, Airflow, or Cloud Composer.
• Experience with GCP data services, data observability, data governance, metadata management, or data cataloguing.
• Experience in Retail or eCommerce and reconciliation of transactional, sales, stock, product, or customer data.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and datasets used for Analytics, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
• Experience using AI-powered assistants and structured GenAI workflows in software delivery.
