Therapy and Business Development Consultant (MedTech)

Location: South Spain, preferably based in Murcia; 80%+ travel within the region and 100% onsite support for elective cases required

Salary: €44,500–€70,725 base pay per year, plus annual bonus or sales commissions

Abiomed, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, develops medical devices for circulatory support, including the Impella product portfolio, to support heart recovery and improve patient outcomes.

What you will do

• Establish Impella and Heart Recovery as a standard of care across the assigned South Spain territory.
• Train physicians and hospital staff on appropriate Impella use and support therapy adoption in active and new sites.
• Manage key accounts, develop relationships with interventional cardiologists and critical decision-makers, and expand therapy penetration.
• Provide onsite support during elective cases, patient implants, bedside visits, and procedures in cath labs, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
• Review cases with physicians, collect clinical data, share best practices, and coordinate clinical activities with the local distribution partner.
• Build and manage relationships with distribution partner contacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Perfusion, Radiology, or another technical field.
• Proficiency in English and native Spanish required.
• At least two years of medical-device experience, with substantial cardiovascular experience required; heart failure experience is preferred.
• Experience in patient support in a cath lab, ICU, or CCU, as well as delivering demonstrations and training.
• Ability to provide emergent patient care and support physicians and patients when needed.
• Established relationships with interventional cardiologists and cath lab staff in South Spain are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with heart failure treatment, cardiac interventions, cardiac perfusion, intensive care, or catheter care.
• Experience with iCue.
