Senior Windows & Virtualization System Administrator

Location: Porto, Portugal — hybrid work model. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Provide Level 2/3 support for Windows Server and VMware virtualization environments.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes according to ITIL practices and SLA requirements.
• Install and maintain physical servers, applications, patches, and infrastructure services using SCCM/MECM.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and operational tools while coordinating technical operations and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, storage, networking, and virtualization issues, escalating risks when required.
• Support NetApp storage migration, disaster recovery planning, documentation, security practices, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Strong Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter, MECM/SCCM deployment, and automation tools.
• Knowledge of clusters, SAN, NAS, NetApp, network protocols, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and GPO troubleshooting.
• Expertise in PowerShell and familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools, ideally Zabbix.
• Fluent English and Portuguese required; existing legal right to work in Europe required.

Nice to have

• Certifications in IT infrastructure or virtualization.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and IT structural constraints.
• Knowledge of security standards and best practices.
