Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and JavaScript.
• Build and optimize MongoDB data models, indexes, queries, and governance practices for high-volume processing.
• Contribute to AWS architecture, deployment, monitoring, logging, alerting, security, and operational excellence.
• Design system interfaces and integrations across multiple business platforms and maintain reliable data flows.
• Support architecture evolution involving caching, asynchronous processing, messaging, and observability.
• Participate in documentation, code reviews, testing, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of backend software development experience with medium- to large-scale services.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript skills, including service design, optimization, and refactoring.
• Hands-on MongoDB experience with data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and distributed systems.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required for communication with North American engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with online ordering, retail, restaurant, ERP, CRM, or other transaction-intensive systems.
• Experience with messaging platforms, caching, task scheduling, event-driven architectures, or observability solutions.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, and automated deployment.
• Experience collaborating across multiple time zones and multicultural teams.
