Senior Data Scientist (Retail Media)

Location: Cologne, Germany; full-time. Individual work-from-home arrangements may include up to 20 days per year anywhere in the EU.

What you will do

• Develop data science and machine learning solutions for the retail media product.
• Lead end-to-end initiatives from problem definition and experimentation through production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and domain experts to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Design, evaluate, and improve machine learning models and experiments while balancing performance, scalability, maintainability, and business impact.
• Develop retail media measurement and optimization approaches, including attribution, ROAS measurement, incrementality testing, causal inference, uplift modelling, and experiment design.

Requirements

• Solid experience in applied data science and machine learning, including building and deploying production models.
• Strong Python, SQL, statistical modelling, and large-scale data processing skills.
• Hands-on experience with marketing or advertising measurement, including attribution, ROAS, causal inference, incrementality testing, uplift modelling, matched-market approaches, and experimental design.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and create structure in an evolving product area.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Azure, MLOps, experimentation and analytics frameworks, Git, and CI/CD.
