Engineering Specialist (Embedded Systems)

Location: Wright-Patt AFB, Ohio, United States; onsite at NASIC FME

What you will do

• Characterize and assess discrete electronic systems.
• Perform diagnostics, repair, removal, and rehosting of electronic systems and components.
• Design PCB layouts and support fabrication and component population.
• Troubleshoot printed circuit boards and develop, validate, and read schematics.
• Use test equipment such as in-circuit debuggers, emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and soldering tools.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI clearance required.
• At least 5 years of documentable technical experience.
• At least 2 years of engineering experience supporting characterization and assessment of discrete electronic systems.
• At least 2 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, removing, or rehosting electronic systems or components.
• At least 2 years of experience with PCB layout, fabrication, and component population.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded systems and assembly language programming.
• Experience troubleshooting printed circuit boards and using Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, LTspice, or similar circuit tools.
• Knowledge of mechanical disassembly.
