Operations Coordinator (Open Space)

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Brisbane South (Nathan), with work across other campuses including Gold Coast as required; a mix of on-campus and work-from-home options is available.

Salary: AUD 94,966.18–101,295.51 base plus 17% superannuation; full package AUD 111,110.42–118,515.75.

What you will do

• Coordinate business-as-usual landscape and open-space activities across Northern campuses, including gardens, lawns, sports fields, irrigation, trees, bushland interfaces, and reactive works.
• Support ESP and Hardscape program delivery through contractor scheduling, site coordination, field verification, follow-up, and progress reporting.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, internal teams, Facilities, project teams, and campus stakeholders to maintain safe and reliable service delivery.
• Assist with scoping, planning, sequencing, procurement inputs, work orders, quotes, contractor documentation, and budget tracking.
• Monitor work quality, campus presentation, defects, risks, WHS matters, environmental obligations, and contractor performance.
• Maintain operational records using university systems and digital tools, including work orders, service requests, photographs, reports, and asset information.

Requirements

• Practical experience in landscape operations, parks and gardens, horticulture, sports turf, natural-area management, civil or hardscape maintenance, or a related environment.
• Experience coordinating landscape, open-space, natural-area, or similar operational works in a multi-site or complex service environment.
• Diploma, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent experience in horticulture, landscape construction, parks and gardens, sports turf, natural-area management, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of WHS requirements, environmental obligations, plant and machinery use, contractor interfaces, and site-based problem solving.
• Strong communication, organisation, contractor coordination, field follow-up, and service delivery skills.
• Current Class C driver licence and ability to work across multiple campuses are required.
