Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Composites (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Establish in-house manufacturing capability for composite components and deliver flight-ready composite hardware.
• Develop, validate, and implement layup, vacuum bagging, curing, trimming, bonding, and assembly processes.
• Design tooling, fixtures, molds, and manufacturing aids for internal production.
• Create and release work instructions, process specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and improve quality, yield, throughput, cost, process controls, and inspection requirements.
• Transition components from development and external suppliers to internal production while collaborating with design, materials, quality, supply chain, procurement, and program management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics.
• At least 3 years of experience building aerospace-grade composite components from scratch.
• Experience with flight hardware, hardware development, or high-speed and high-output production environments.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Access to export-controlled information and, if applicable, the ability to satisfy U.S. Government security clearance, citizenship, authorization, or other eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience manufacturing and repairing intricate testing systems.
• Familiarity with SVN, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Project management skills.
• Experience supporting new composite materials, tooling concepts, and manufacturing methods.
