What you will do
- Provide clinical leadership and support to medical practitioners within the University Health and Counselling Service.
- Lead initiatives related to clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based healthcare.
- Contribute to service planning, operational decisions, and strategic healthcare initiatives.
- Collaborate with nurses, counsellors, psychologists, administrative staff, and external healthcare providers.
- Mentor clinicians and support workforce development and professional growth.
- Deliver direct patient consultations while contributing to student-centred service excellence.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current practising certificate.
- Significant experience in general practice or primary healthcare.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience, including supporting and mentoring clinicians.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to culturally responsive practice and equitable health outcomes.
Nice to have
- Vocational registration in general practice.
- Experience working with young adults or in tertiary health services.
- Experience leading service improvement and healthcare innovation initiatives.
