TL;DR
Software Architect (AWS, NodeJS) (AWS/NodeJS): Designing low-latency, secure multi-tenant software systems and scalable applications for client projects with an accent on AWS architecture, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, RESTful APIs, and auditability. Focus on designing latency budgets, historical replay and outage semantics, evaluating tenant-isolation models, and establishing technical standards across engineering teams.
Location: Remote within Latin America; overlap with US business hours required.

What you will do
- Design low-latency service architectures in AWS, including distributed components such as queues, caches, and search projections.
- Architect secure multi-tenant environments and data models using PostgreSQL, AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security.
- Design scalable RESTful APIs, SDK integrations, audit systems, append-only event logs, and deterministic historical replay.
- Define latency budgets, synchronous durable commits, fail-open/fail-closed behavior, degraded-state semantics, and outage postures.
- Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, mentor engineering teams, and document decisions through diagrams and ADRs.
- Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews while developing complex systems end to end.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, Row-Level Security, and RESTful API design.
- Experience with capacity modeling, cloud cost and performance projections, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience designing audit/evidence systems, secure multi-tenant architectures, SDK integrations, and large complex systems.
- Bachelor’s degree required, with strong problem-solving, technical leadership, ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work remotely from Latin America and overlap with US business hours.
Nice to have
- Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated domains such as TCPA/DNC, fintech decisioning, or audit-heavy systems.
- Experience with event-driven design, message queues, and caching strategies at scale.
- Advanced degree.
