TL;DR
Staff Software Architect (APIs/AWS): Designing and supporting scalable software solutions, including API-based, cloud-hosted, and distributed services, with an accent on architectural patterns, service integrations, and cross-team technical alignment. Focus on designing event-driven solutions, applying AWS best practices, documenting architecture, and influencing implementation across multiple initiatives.
Location: Lima, with office attendance 2 days per week

What you will do
- Design and support scalable software solutions, including API-based and cloud-hosted services.
- Evaluate and propose solutions using software architecture principles and established architectural patterns.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams, development teams, and DBAs to guide practical implementation.
- Design service integrations and distributed solutions using APIs, messaging, and event-driven concepts.
- Communicate architectural recommendations and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Provide architecture documentation and design guidance while supporting planning across multiple initiatives.
Requirements
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Experience in software engineering and/or software architecture with increasing responsibility in solution design.
- Strong understanding of API-based solutions, service-oriented concepts, software architecture, and architectural patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting concepts, preferably AWS.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture, including Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience collaborating across teams, communicating technical recommendations, influencing decisions, and managing multiple initiatives.
Nice to have
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate-level certification.
- Experience with project planning, estimation, scheduling, and architectural design documentation.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
