Senior Consultant, Data Science

Location: Remote, based in Lagunilla de Heredia, Costa Rica; occasional in-person attendance at work-related events may be required

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex machine learning, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.
• Guide initiatives from problem definition and analytical design through production implementation and continuous improvement.
• Establish technical standards, reusable practices, and solution approaches that improve scalability, quality, and performance.
• Translate business requirements into scalable analytical and machine learning solutions across multiple projects.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and business leaders to execute cross-functional programs and communicate findings to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Mentor team members, lead knowledge-sharing activities, and contribute technical expertise to hiring and strategic decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Four to six years of experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading complex analytics or machine learning initiatives through design, development, implementation, and delivery.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling, with the ability to select appropriate approaches for complex business problems.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, plus experience with BigQuery and modern machine learning tools or ecosystems.
• Experience developing scalable, production-grade machine learning solutions on cloud-based AI and data platforms.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or doctorate in a quantitative or related field.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale artificial intelligence or machine learning initiatives.
• Knowledge or experience in fraud, marketing, or communication solutions.
