Quality Engineer (CNC Machining)

Location: United States; onsite work in a precision CNC machining environment

STS Aerospace develops and manufactures rigid tubing, flexible hose assemblies, and engineered fluid transfer systems for commercial aviation, defense, and space applications.

What you will do

• Provide quality support for CNC turning, milling, deburring, inspection, and secondary machining operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, routers, job plans, and inspection requirements.
• Support first-piece, in-process, final inspection, FAI development and review, CMM, manual gage, special gage, and fixture-related inspection activities.
• Lead or support root-cause and corrective-action investigations for rejects, customer escapes, rework, scrap, and recurring defects.
• Use quality data to improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap and rework, strengthen inspection flow, and prevent customer escapes.
• Support audits, calibration and gage control, material certification review, traceability, customer quality requests, and corrective-action documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in precision manufacturing, CNC machining, aerospace, or a regulated quality environment preferred.
• Practical knowledge of CNC machining, inspection methods, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, gage usage, material traceability, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and regulated quality systems.
• Experience with FAI/AS9102, RCCA, nonconforming material, inspection planning, CMM or manual inspection methods, calibration, and ERP-based quality records preferred.
• Strong MS Office and Excel skills required; ERP/MRP experience such as JobBOSS/JobBOSS², quality documentation systems, CMM software, FAI tools, and corrective-action tracking are preferred.
