Finance Valuation Control Assistant Manager - 12 month FTC

Location: Edinburgh, Princes Exchange, UK. Hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of working time in an office.

Salary: £44,901–£49,890 per year

What you will do

• Prepare daily P&L production, reconciliations, signoffs, and issue resolution.
• Support month-end close activities and independently validate balance sheet reporting.
• Prepare complex reconciliations and related journal postings.
• Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements and provide in-depth commentary.
• Maintain a robust control framework, investigate partner requests, and support continuous improvement.
• Build effective relationships with internal partners.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant.
• At least 12 months of knowledge or experience with financial instruments.
• At least 12 months of relationship-building and stakeholder management experience.
• Strong numerical ability and competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• At least 12 months of experience using Excel.
• Ability to work in the Edinburgh office at least two days per week or 40% of working time as part of the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial control or audit.
• Experience with SQL and macros.
• Understanding of capital market and loan market products.
• Knowledge of fair value methodologies and valuation techniques.
